The Haunted Mill FAQ’s

What is “The Haunted Mill”?  It is a walk-through haunted house attraction that contains a dark maze, detailed sets, animations, still and pneumatic props, Hollywood style special effects, a spinning tunnel and the most gruesome actors in Gaston County who employ the latest “hardcore” scare tactics.  This haunt is in its 9th spine tingling season and is almost certain to chill your bones as this haunt has become a Belmont, NC October tradition and “must see” attraction in 2006.  Groups of 6-10 customers will travel together to challenge the haunted catacombs and experience the “Thrill of the Mill”.

Is it too scary for young children?  Most children won’t go in the haunt if it’s too scary because of hearing customers screaming inside the show.  It is not recommended for kids under 10, however, some kids are brave and others aren’t.  It really depends on the individual.

Can the actors touch you?  No, the actors don’t touch you and you don’t touch them either!  However, it is possible for you to bump into someone in the dark but it is usually someone in your group.

Do you have group rates?  Yes, but call the number on the “Price” page for group rate info.  Groups have to be a civic organization, club, team, etc. with documentation and consist of 15 or more people that plan on attending the haunt to qualify for the rate.

How long is the wait in line?  Lines are longer on weekend nights especially the closer to Halloween it is.  During slower nights the wait is much less.  However, this show is capable of running groups rather quickly when necessary.

Can I be an actor?  Anyone interested in being an actor should call the info number and leave a message.  All hiring will be completed about a week before the show opens.

Do you do birthday parties?  Yes, please contact us on the info line.

Do you sell costumes?  No, but you can see the best selection of costumes anywhere at the Charlotte “Morris Costumes Halloween Express Superstores” locations at University Place beside Old Navy and The Arboretum Shopping Center in the old Eckerd’s location.
